| It has been a long, rewarding journey to
create Nanoose Bay Estates (NBE) from one of the premier pieces of waterfront
property on the Nanoose Peninsula. This property had been owned by one family
for almost 50 years and was a summer home for the former owner. NBE is located
approximately 24 kilometers (km) north of the ferry terminal in Nanaimo
on Vancouver Island and is a short 10 minute drive from the Island’s
largest shopping mall, Woodgrove Center. Yet, once you step onto the property,
it is apparent that you have entered a private retreat from the city full
of natural beauty and wildlife. The south facing lots and protected harbor
of Nanoose Bay bring added warmth when other parts of the nearby coastline
have been impacted by inclement weather. The Nanoose Peninsula is centrally located on Vancouver Island with a population of approximately 5000 people. The peninsula offers lots of recreational opportunities with one championship golf course and one more in the design process. There are two marinas in Nanoose offering over 500 boat slips. The towns of Parkville and Qualicum are nearby to the north with the city of Nanaimo offering all amenities and services required. There are spas nearby at Fairwinds and Parksville, lots of Bed and Breakfasts because of the scenery, and nearby marine parks in the Straights of Georgia. Links for information about Nanoose and the nearby areas have been included in this website. The development is located 2km off of the island highway on the road into the Fairwinds golf course. The entrance road to NBE is currently a gravel road, but will be paved all the way from Powder Point Road to the end of the new road in the development by mid June. There are 10 lots offered for sale that range in size from 2.5 acres to 3.2 acres. Each lot is serviced with underground utilities (electrical, cable, phone) and will have a private well installed by NBE. There are septic covenant areas designated on each site for individual leaching fields. All lots are fee simple. There are four, gently sloping waterfront lots. Two of the waterfronts are “walk-on” waterfronts to the Nanoose Bay, and the other two lots are low bluff lots that steps could easily be constructed to access the waterfront. The other six lots are quite varied; some of these lots offer water views, two of the lots have a large pond on them, and some of the lots offer exceptional privacy. In addition, a 2.5 acre piece of waterfront has been dedicated as a park and will remain undeveloped. Final registration of the lots is expected to be completed by the end of June. The road into the subdivision will be paved the week of June 9th and all construction for the installation of underground utilities will be completed during the week of June 16th. Courtesy will be shown Realtors.
